When it comes to hockey clubs in London there are a lot of options. But at Hampstead and Westminster Hockey Club, we believe there's only one that stands out as the best choice.

As the most central hockey club in London and the largest in the country HWHC is an excellent choice. Whether you're starting out in the sport, looking to get back into hockey after years out of the action or you are an international player, returning from the Rio Olympics and looking to join our club - we would love to hear from you.

Whether you live in the North, South East or West of London suburbs, talk to us before you consider joining your nearest club.

HWHC is your go-to hockey club in London because you could:

  • Choose from one of our many relaxed social hockey teams
  • Try out for a competitive national level team with ambitions to enter European leagues
  • Learn from leading international players who coach lower league teams
  • Make friends within a 200-strong club of professionals from all walks of London life - from students to CEOs

Other London Hockey Clubs

So who are the competition? Why is HWHC your best choice for a London hockey club? Honestly, London is fortunate to have dozens of hockey clubs and below are the top clubs who we do battle with on a weekly basis.

London Edwardians a club that claims to be the most successful club in London*. This star appears on their website, but we're not sure what it refers to.

Richmond Hockey Club a club step with history all the way back to 1874. We've been doing battle with this lot since we formed out of Hampstead Cricket Club in 1894. A lot of rivalry can build up over 122 years let us tell you.

London Wayfarers was founded in 1986 which makes them the one of the new kids on the block compared to Richmond and HWHC.

West Hampstead Hockey Club our friends up the road at West Hampstead are another central/North West London club. These are a good choice if you are looking for a smaller social hockey club but we would definitely contest for the rights on 'Most social club in London'

East London Hockey another young club formed in 1990. A well organised club, this is a superb option if you live in the East.

A full list of London hockey clubs can be found on the get active website.

Good luck finding the best matching club for you. Whatever you chose we look forward to seeing you on a pitch sometime soon!
