Your club needs you…

As a growing and ambitious club, we need to recruit more help from you to not only keep everything going but to ensure we keep making positive strides forward for all of us!

If you have any appetite to get involved in any way please get in touch (Beth Havelock, Jonny Dodds, Richard Smith or your captain).  The most critical areas we need support with are listed below, and even if it's not a role listed below, but you want to help out in anyway, please get in touch!

Communications Officers - Social media, website, newsletter/email communications.

Social Secretaries  - Get the club social side buzzing with 4 or 5 main socials during the season.

Sponsorship Officers - Help us grow our sponsorship and local business/school community relationships.

Fixtures Secretary - Manage new and cancelled pitch bookings across sites and ensure we pay the right amount.

Equipment Officer - Ensure there is good quality training equipment for all senior sides.

1st X1 Home Match Day Officers - Match day hosts, Logistics co-ordinator and Programme officer

Communications Team

We are looking for people who are passionate about the club and keen to help communicate to members (past and present) and the wider hockey community. Working alongside other members of the committee, responsibilities for the Communications team include…
Social Media channels - Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, which all now have a big following and engagement. Regular posts about the club, fixtures, results, international appearances etc.
Website editorial content - Upcoming events and news announcements, with technical assistance from the website manager. The site is currently built in WordPress and simple to use.
Press - Weekly liaison with the Men's and Ladies' 1s captains, sending a weekly report to the Ham and High.
Email - As part of the overall communication strategy, sending out club emails through Mailchimp, at several times of the year for key announcements.

If you are interested in any or all of the above, or have any ideas to help the communications team, please get in touch.

We're also keen to hear from anyone with creative expertise or interest - design and video editing, looking to get involved and help grow the club's following.

Social Events Team

We are looking for people to take ownership of our social community at HWHC, whether that be the set up and environment in the Warrington, sporadic club social evenings or the more officially organised club social events; New Joiners, City Drinks, Christmas Party, End of Season Dinner.

Sponsorship Team

As one of the largest and most successful hockey clubs in the country and with our central London location we have a fantastic opportunity to partner with local and national businesses through sponsorship. We are looking for individuals who are keen to drive the search for, recruitment of and service of club sponsors. It is an area where we have huge capacity to make strides and one where we are certainly behind some of our competitors! Please let us know if you are keen to help us create a shift in this space, we probably are going to need more than one person!

Fixtures Secretaries

1. Manage Senior Pitch Bookings
2. Reconcile invoices
3. Adding those fixtures to Fixtures Live

Equipment Officer

We all know how frustrating it is to have none/or poor-quality equipment for our sessions and matches. We are looking for somebody who would like to take a lead on our approach to and care of our club equipment (balls/cones/bibs/dugouts/goals/other kit).

1st X1 Home Match Support Officers

For each of our home 1st X1 matches (now all Premier League!) we are expected by England Hockey to complete a number of duties as well as there being various elements involved in hosting a home match day. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following

Match day host - To give a warm and fantastic welcome to our visitors and ‘host’ them across the day – primarily the match official’s and umpires. We may be looking at you vets & alumni!
Logistics boss - To be on top of things logistically for the day! Pitch and crowd set up, changing room access etc – ensuring it is a smooth-running day!
Programme officer – For each home game we have to produce and print a programme. We would love it if somebody wanted to take ownership of the full process (you will have help don’t worry) and ensure a programme is created efficiently for each home game.
